Who we build for

Four kinds of dirt.
One contractor.

We provide excavation, grading and concrete paving in the Dallas / Fort Worth area for residential, commercial, municipal and TXDOT work. The specs change. The standard does not.

01

Residential Development

Our specialty. Lot grading, street subgrade, paving, sidewalks and ADA ramps for subdivision buildout, phased so your builders keep moving.

02

Commercial Sites

Commercial excavation and concrete paving: pads, drive aisles, parking, loading areas and the grading work underneath all of it.

03

Municipal & Trails

Municipal construction including road grading, public sidewalks, accessible ramps and concrete trails built for pedestrian traffic.

04

TXDOT & Aviation

TXDOT work, TXDOT aviation with airport runway excavation and concrete paving, and Corps of Engineers work on military runways.

Our services

Eight scopes,
self-performed.

We provide the following services in the Dallas / Fort Worth area for residential, commercial, municipal and TXDOT projects.

Build my scope

Sequence your
sitework in order.

Pick your project type and the scopes you need. We put them in the order the ground actually requires, add your earthwork volume if you have dimensions, and hand you a scope sheet you can send straight to estimating.

Step 01 Project type
Step 02 Scopes you need
Step 03 Earthwork volume (optional)

Straight geometry only: length x width x average cut, divided by 27. Bank volume, no swell factor, no pricing. Real quantities come off your plans and geotech report.

Your sequence

Choose a project type to start. We will preselect the scopes that project normally needs, and you can add or drop any of them.

    How the work runs

    Stake to final
    grade.

Highly experienced supervisors and equipment operators, adhering to best safety practices, finishing on time and often beating the expected completion date.

Field supervisor checking a hub stake with pink flagging at first light
    01

    Walk it and stake it

We walk the site against your plans, confirm the scope, and set the control the crews will build to.

Operator working a dozer with a grade control display mounted in the cab
    02

    Cut to the number

Clearing, demo and mass excavation run first, with the operators cutting to grade rather than to eye.

Articulated haul truck and dozer moving material in a stockpile yard
    03

    Condition and compact

Moisture conditioning brings the subgrade to spec so the pad passes and the concrete has something to sit on.

Conveyor building an aggregate stockpile beside a portable plant
    04

    Pour and turn it over

Aggregate, concrete paving, then the sidewalks and ramps, and the site goes back to you ready for the next trade.

Eight: concrete paving, sidewalks, ramps and trails, excavation and grading, moisture conditioning, site clearing, site demo, lot grading and road grading. That covers a site from first clearing through final grade and the concrete on top of it, under one contract.

Yes. Chris Harp Construction has experience in municipal construction, TXDOT work, and TXDOT aviation with relation to airport runway excavation and concrete paving, including Corps of Engineers work on military runways. Residential development remains the company's specialty.

Moisture conditioning means optimizing material moisture levels so the subgrade performs the way the spec assumes. Soil that is too wet or too dry will not compact to the required density, and a pad that fails density testing holds up every trade behind it. It is one of the eight scopes we self-perform, which means it does not get handed to a second subcontractor and it does not get skipped.
